It’s one of the pages from the book that might already be considered finished. It’s also one of the few exceptions where I mix instruments from several cultures. Usually they are separated by cultures and chapters and are all on a long checklist, so I simply have to draw them one after the other. But these are instruments from the Northern provinces High Rock, Hammerfell, Skyrim, Morrowind and Northern Cyrodiil.

But lists and plans are something that can rarely keep up with reality. In this case, I realized that just churning out object next to object wasn’t enough for me. I longed for more liveliness, characters, dynamic compositions! I do work on scenic paintings as well, of which I have shown a few. But unlike these, I wanted to depict the instruments a little more matter-of-factly. And so I came to this arrangement, in which the overall image is being considered, but the instruments remain clear to read.

On a lesser note, I want to offer this image as an art print, as soon as I have decided on a vendor!
